Something rarely experienced

When I found the ManKind Project (MKP) I was in the midst of my enquiry into what it means to be a man.

I am a single father that came out of separation and dived deep in personal development, but still, there were so many pieces of my life I could not put together. I knew I did not have healthy masculine role models growing up. And that was affecting the way I related to other men and women.

I have found something rarely experienced before. An environment that is not judgemental but instead, supportive and positively self-reflective. – Andrea

In MKP, the NWTA and I-Group I have found something rarely experienced before. It’s an environment that is not judgemental, but instead, supportive and positively self-reflective. Having the opportunity of witnessing, sharing and learning about other men’s experiences has given me the opportunity to learn a lot more about myself.

There have been extremely challenging times in the past 2 years. Knowing that I have the space to take a look at those challenges, open up and eventually ask for support has been a blessing for my life. Learning to relate to men in much healthier and positive ways – as in a brotherhood – has also enhanced my desire to help others like me who have been on the path of searching for what it means to be a man.

Being a man, with a son, I feel there is no manual that teaches what a good man does. This community is supporting me constantly to receive the answers on that quest.
